Independence Day Facts…

The Declaration of Independence wasn’t signed on July 4th:  

While the Declaration was adopted on that date, the official signing didn’t happen until August 2, 1776. 

Yankee Doodle” wasn’t originally a patriotic song:

It was actually written by British officers to mock American troops during the Revolutionary War. 

The Liberty Bell is tapped, not rung, on the 4th:

It’s tapped thirteen times in honor of the original thirteen colonies.
